| APRIL 2005 NEWSLETTERAt the April Board Meeting, Janet Adams, County Clerk, swore in board member, Phyllis Ferguson who was re-elected in the April 2005 election. On April 5th a sales tax ballot issue passed in neighboring Iron County that should be the last official step in securing necessary funding for the construction of a new Critical Access Hospital in the town of Pilot Knob. The location is across the street from the former Arcadia Valley Hospital, which was closed in 1999. On April 13th the WCMH Laboratory was surveyed for Compliance with CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) Regulations, a bi-annual survey conducted through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The survey went extremely well and the hospital is in compliance with all standards. The hospital's construction project continues and most aspects are on schedule. On March 29th Missouri Baptist Medical Center sent a Mammography Van to the Potosi Southern Baptist Church. Clark Duncan and Melvin Warden met with the County Commissioners on Monday, April 18, 2005 to take them Washington County Memorial Hospital's annual financial statement and show them the renovation plans. |
