Washington County Memorial Hospital is growing, growing, growing! The
hospital's major renovation / construction project is well underway. The ER
canopy and front lobby entrance underwent demolition the week of August 9, 2004.
Since that time there has been daily changes in the appearance of the hospital
from highway 21. Truckloads of dirt are being hauled in to level the grade of
the hospital grounds. (See pictures posted on our website)
The new temporary entrance of the hospital is now being used by all public
traffic, ER, outpatient, inpatient and visitor. The temporary entrance is
located at the south end of the hospital (Wal-Mart side).
WCMH welcomed J. Paul Tindall, D.O. into his new practice on August 2, 2004. Dr. Tindall is a native of Potosi who now has a Family Practice Clinic in Healthway Primary Care of the Professional Building. You may call 573-438-3655 for more information.
Congratulations are in order for Tammy Reed, the hospital's Director of Respiratory Therapy. She has now passed her registry exam to become a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). She was formerly a CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician) as well as having two other advanced specialty certifications in Pulmonary Function and Sleep Technology. She is the first at WCMH to achieve such a level of credentialing in this field and the entire departmental staff continues on an admirable pace of educational advancement.
Patricia Allen has completed her Masters Degree in Nursing and will soon be a Family Nurse Practitioner. She did much of the research for her final graduate school paper here at WCMH with our cooperation. She will soon be practicing in a new Rural Health Clinic which will be established in Richwoods, with Dr. Helton from House Springs being the owner and collaborating physician. We hope to establish a mutually beneficial working relationship with that clinic.
