February 2005 NewsletterThe hospital held an American Red Cross Blood Drive at the hospital on Friday, February 18, 2005 from 12:00 - 4:30 p.m. that was sponsored by the Medicine Shoppe and Washington County Memorial Hospital. Thanks to all the donors, you are very appreciated! Patient Rooms at Washington County Memorial Hospital have recently undergone a makeover. The makeover includes fresh paint, new TVs, pillow speakers, and bumper guards on all beds. The rooms look dramatically better, cleaner and brighter. One very visible sign to the public of the progress is that the exterior masonry work began on the south wall on Tuesday, February 8th. Also underway is design of a proposed new nursing station, medication room, and charting and dictation area. The hospital anticipates being able to move into the new area in August 2005 so that renovation can start in the existing areas. Phase 2 will require very complicated transitional adjustments to minimize downtime of services in laboratory, respiratory, and emergency room services. The total project should be completed by January 2006. Check for new construction pictures on our homepage. The WCMH Foundation has now received its tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service, officially recognizing it as a public charity. It is qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers, and gifts. The first meeting of the WCMH Foundation Board of Directors since receiving tax-exempt status was Wednesday, February 16th. |
