OCTOBER 2003 NEWSLETTEROn Saturday, October 25, 2003 a Memorial Service was held for former board chairman, Linnie Jarvis. The service was very well attended on the brisk autumn morning by friends, family, and hospital representatives. Mr. Jarvis' name has been added to the stone in the Memorial Garden and a beautiful granite bench has been placed in front of the hospital. An architect company, Hoefer, Wysocki Architects started the planning phase of a major hospital renovation and Master Plan. The main priority in this plan is the expansion of emergency room services to accommodate the growing volume of patients seen in our Emergency Department annually. Angela DeClue and Lana King passed the board exams for Family Nurse Practitioners and are now fully accredited. The hospital's physical therapy department hired new physical therapist Nicole Hinkebein in August. Nicole completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Maryville University. In addition, the hospital also purchased an additional ultrasound unit for the physical therapy department. The hospital purchased new stress testing and telemetry equipment for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. The hospital growing Cardiac Rehab program was in great need of the new equipment which includes three new treadmills, new computer monitoring system and software, and telemetry equipment. |
